Expressions Photography History

Expressions Photography began 20 years ago as a home studio before I became pregnant with my triplets. Taking care of 3 babies and working full time was impossible so photography was put on hold for 2 years.

In 1991, I purchased a beautiful old building that needed lots of work in the small town of Alexandria. I loved my building and it became my 5th child as it grew and changed with us as we remodeled and added the camera room and an additional building in 2000. So many beautiful pictures were taken in the studio especially in my window light camera area on the third floor. I learned and grew as a photographer in that space. I thought I would be there forever.

Over the years, I found I was shooting more and more on location, in homes, the parks, old downtown area, and upscale urban areas. I learned that the skills I perfected in my studio worked great on location and new locations were more challenging artistically. Each time I was stretched; I grew.

Last May I made a hard decision. It was time to leave the comfort and security of a building I loved. I took with me all that I learned in those walls and all the memories of the beautiful images I created for my clients and the wonderful relationships that I made. It was time to “hit the road.”

Industry changes, new technology and client needs made “going mobile” work. Today I come to you. I bring the photography to
you and the presentation to you – saving you time and money. It’s working for me, and the response has been more than positive.

I miss the gallery walls where I could see my work daily, but now I get to see it firsthand in your homes. Thank you for support as you have welcomed me into your living rooms.
